Ecology Club's purpose is to provide MSOE staff, students, and faculty the opportunity to help preserve the environment through activities such as fundraisering, clean-up days, and educational tours and speeches.

Also the Ecology club wants members to have fun doing what they're doing and provides ecological-themed activites such as camping, hiking, canoeing, fishing, etc.

 

Possible ideas for Ecology Club are:

  • Address waste recycling issues on campus
  • Adopt an animal (wolfpack, penguin, etc.)
  • Environmental workshops (students learn about environmental issuse, it is kind of like Envirothon)
  • Milwaukee River Clean-up.
  • Environmental Protection Agency's P3 Award (A student Design Competition for sustainablity)
  • Teach younsters about preserving the environment
  • Envirnmental Scholarships (Raise money by participating in environmental projects)
  • Plant some trees on campus
  • Donate money to Feed My People or Clothe My People
  • etc

Possible trips are:

  • Rock Climbing at the Milwaukee Turners Climbing alliance
  • Backpacking at Wil-O-Way
  • Wilderness servival trip at Wil-O-Way
  • Camping at Devil's Lake
  • Attending a backpacking class at the Wehr Nature Center
  • Repelling Trip
  • Hiking
  • etc
